When do you need a professional?

We have had many calls of late by folks who either have a situation and do not know what to do or people that have used a carpet cleaner or restoration company, they didn’t get the job right, and now need help.

Not all situations are very cut and dry that you need a professional’s help.  I will say anything with blood or body matter or fluid, requires a licensed and trained cleanup company such as Bio-One.  Most people know this, but have questions about other situations.

Many questions arise in the case of hoarding or animal hoarding.  If you read this and question whether or not you need a professional to cleanup one of these types of situations, the answer the majority of the time is yes.

Hoarding presents many dangers that people are simply uneducated on. Whether it be family, social workers, or first responders, a professional biohazard team needs to be at least notified to ensure the safety of all who enter the residence.

Many times hoarding cases involved the hoarding of animals. This requires a licensed cleanup team and licensed transporter.  Animal feces and animal bedding is considered a biohazard and needs to be treated and disposed of in the appropriate manner.

The fact is, if you are reading this and have any questions about whether you need professional assistance and what needs to be done or what hazards are present, then you need to call us.  For this reason, we answer the phone 24 hours a day and are always open to provide service or simply answer a question.

Do not hesitate to call and speak with a team member at Bio-One.

Article about the importance of using the right cleanup company

When a traumatic injury, homicide or suicide occurs, it is imperative that a licensed, bonded and insured company is contacted.  Skilled professionals have the training, equipment and personnel that allow them to accurately clean and safely dispose of the biohazard waste properly.

You should not attempt to clean the crime scene area on your own, as there can be traces of blood and other bodily fluids, as well as contagious diseases, such as HIV, Hepatitis B & C, AIDS, Tuberculosis and much more.  These items must be handled safely.  At Bio-One, we have over 10 years of experience with crime scene cleanups and can provide you with the level of service and compassion you require.

The Delicate Nature of These Situations

Crime scenes are particularly hazardous areas that must be taken seriously.  Depending on the circumstances surrounding the event, there may not only be biohazard waste, but offensive odors that can make the space uninhabitable.

At Bio-One, we are compassionate, sympathetic and understand the sensitive nature surrounding the events that have transpired at your home or business.  We are members of the AMA and NAA, and we hold ABRA and ADEQ certifications.  Our company is familiar with the strict OSHA guidelines that must be followed and we have the experience, permits and knowledge that allow us to dispose of and clean your property effectively, so that it can be returned to its original condition.

Our company remains a preferred choice for Phoenix crime scene cleaners in Arizona because we offer 24-hour Emergency Service.  When you need your property cleaned immediately, you will find that our technicians can arrive at your residence or business without delay.  We handle the entire process from start to finish, so that you do not have to worry about a thing.

Experience That Matters

Our highly trained professionals are familiar with various crime scenes and contamination, as many of our employees have military, police, fire and medical field backgrounds.  You can rest assured knowing that our personnel will conduct themselves professionally at all times.

The Right Equipment

To continue providing the superior service that our company is known for, we employ the use of high tech equipment that can remove the odors that may be present when your property experiences a tragedy.  Additionally, we use sanitizers, cleaners and other agents to completely rid your property of any remains.

Additional Services

We are also equipped to handle Decomposition, Undiscovered Death Blood Cleanup, Biohazard Cleanup, Biohazard Waste, Disposal Odor Removal, Emergency Vehicle Decontamination, Tear Gas Cleanup, Jail Cell Cleaning, Evidence Room Cleaning, Sewage Backups, Rodent Droppings, Homicide Cleanup Hoarders/Clutter Cleanup and much more.

2012: The Year of Biohazard Awareness

The new year is approaching very quickly and it is my goal for this year to be one of getting information and aid to those who encounter biohazardous situations.

The majority of calls we get are from people who simply do not know the hazards they face in a situation involving anything from a horrific trauma scene all the way down the feces. This group of people is easier to work with and tends to put themselves in less harm, due to the fact that they are open to instruction.

The more harmful group, to themselves anyway, are the folks that have a misguided confidence that they know exactly the hazards they face in any situation involving blood, body fluid, fecal matter, MRSA, or similar circumstances.

Our knowledge on these diseases is continually changing and improving and most are not up to date on all risks involved with body fluid or blood. That is the reason Bio-One is in business. We maintain that it is our duty to know all of the facets of biological disease and the most cutting edge way to attack and eliminate it from the public domain.

For the reasons mentioned above, we are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week if not to provide services, then to at least provide answers to any questions people might have. Even if we are not doing the work, we want to ensure that people get the help they need.

For those that read this, I encourage you to log this in the back of your mind should you ever need it. Like I always say, I hope to never hear from you, because that most likely means that something tragic has happened. But I can say, if something should occur that would warrant our services, we are the best ones to call.

Have a safe holiday and a happy new year and leave the cleanup to your friends at Bio-One

When a suicide happens, or another instance occurs in which there are bodily fluids present in a home, business or anywhere else, it is necessary to consider decontamination. This is the process of cleaning up an area that has been exposed to biological fluids or other toxins. In situations where people are hurt, even in situations where it is family, it is critical to call on a professional team to come to the facility and properly to clean it. This is the only way to ensure the surfaces are safe for you and your family to be in. There is help available though, to ensure this is possible.

How Can Decontamination Occur?

In situations such as suicide, trauma, homicides, vehicle accidents, work place injuries, tear gas instances or even in situations where there is unexplained blood, the right type of cleanup is necessary to ensure the area is decontaminated. This type of process is far more than just using water and bleach. In fact, that will not get rid of the biological risk factors that you face. The only way to do that is to hire a professional company that has the knowledge and the resources to clean up such risky materials.

Why Do You Need It?

Why can’t you just clean up your home on your own? Why can’t you just clean out your car or fix the mess? The problem is, biological fluids, including blood, can be difficult to remove. They are even more difficult to remove if they have been in place for more than a few minutes. It is critical for you to consider the risks of allowing this material to continue to be present. It can pose a risk of transferring diseases. It can also lead to toxic mold development. Decontamination is the only way to ensure that your property will be properly maintained.

Having a death occur on your property can be very traumatic, especially if it was a violent death. You may not know where to turn to afterwards. With police officers often present on the scene, and the business of any subsequent investigation, the whole process can be overwhelming. Afterwards, you may be tempted to simply take care of the situation yourself. Don’t. You need an expert to make sure that any kind of a mess left behind on your property is completely eliminated in a safe and thorough manner. We understand that you need to remove the signs of the crime in order to get on with your life. The trained professionals at Bio-One are ready to help you through this difficult time.

What Happens After a Death Occurs

Once a death has been identified on your property, you will likely find yourself surrounded by police officers, crime scene investigators, and forensic professionals. These people have a job to do, and it does not include cleaning up the mess left behind by the crime. You may not have access to certain areas on your property until the police have thoroughly recorded the scene. Once they have allowed you to go back to living your normal life, it will be your responsibility to clean up the mess.

Crime Scene Cleanup

You may not know it, but cleaning up after a homicide or suicide is a natural part of the cleaning industry. Forensic cleanup services used to be uncommon, but now you can find forensic cleaners in most major cities. You may think that blood and gore are the most common parts of this job, but actually, the service is much more comprehensive than that. For example, the removal of dangerous objects from the scene is often covered by forensic cleaners. There may be chemical or biological contamination on the scene that needs to be cleaned up for the health of your family.

Many crime scene cleanup specialists don’t require that you or your family move out during the cleanup, even if there was a violent death on the property. Instead, the cleaners will work with you to safely and effectively remove signs of the crime, including all bodily fluids, which are also known as biohazards. Blood cleanup specialists often come from the medical field, and have a special understanding about the type of cleaning agents that are necessary to the removal of such bio hazardous materials. Did you know that permits are actually required to move and dispose of bio hazardous waste? The professionals at Bio-One can handle all those details for you.
